Dane Nelson returns in style – wins on first mount Msmyrtlerichiegirl as Diamond Mile weekend gets under

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Popular former champion jockey Dane Nelson who has just returned from a long stint of riding in Canada got the Diamond Mile weekend of racing off to a rousing start when he partnered Msmyrtlerichiegirl to an easy win in the first of 11 races at Caymanas Park just moments ago.

Msmyrtlerichiegirl from the camp of trainer Patrick Lynch was settled in second at the off by Nelson in the 7 ½ furlong contest behind Virtuoso (Jermone Innis) in the event for four-year-olds and upwards non-winners of three, before taking over with 3 ½ furlongs to go after which it was not a race.

Second 3 ½ lengths behind was Queen of the Harbour (Christopher Mamdeen) with third going to A Seh Soup with Hakeem Pottinger in the saddle.

Msmyrtlerichiegirl won at odds of 4-5.
