KINGSTON, Jamaica – The eight-race card at Caymanas Park today (April 30) got underway with a facile victory for the Lawrence Freemantle trained, Dane Nelson ridden Mother Nature at closing odds of 5-2.
In this Optional Claimer ($350,000 - $300,000), Nelson watched for the first three furlongs of the 6 ½ furlongs the horses had to travel in the contest.
Nelson then pushed through Mother Nature to the lead and that was that, winning by 8 ½ lengths.
Second was Ridewiththemob (Bebeto Harvey 18-1) with Smarty Tradition (Reyan Lewis 7-2) third.
Of special note was the sales in the Reggae-6 of just over $9.4 million. With a mandatory payout in the Reggae-6 today, the jackpot stands at approximately $14.3 million.
