Crucial Alexxya, a four-year-old grey filly, was bred, owned, and trained by Carl Anderson. She achieved her first win in 2024, on July 20, in the Jamaica Jockeys' Guild Trophy at Caymanas Park.

The race event where Crucial Alexxya found success spanned seven furlongs, was for native-bred four-year-olds and upward (non-winners of two) and imported four-year-olds and upward (maidens).

Bred by Admiral Alex out of Crucial Cat, Crucial Alexxya showcased her abilities by coming from behind to win the race by a convincing six lengths.

This victory was especially significant as it marked the end of an 11-race winless streak for Crucial Alexxya. Jockey Aaron Chatrie strategically held Crucial Alexxya in fifth place as they trailed the leading horses down the backstretch.

Crucial Alexxya began to make her move into the lead around the half-mile turn, eventually overtaking the frontrunners and securing a commanding win.

With Jockey Aaron Chatrie on board, Crucial Alexxya triumphed ahead of Joblane and Workout Cru, with a winning time of 1:30.3 (24.0 x 48.4 x 1:15.4)."
