Trophy race honours former Jamaican footballer, broadcaster Lindy Delapenha
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The trophy race honouring former footballing great and broadcaster Lindy Delapenha is the feature on the 10-race Sunday (March 27) agenda at Caymanas Park. This race is at the Overnight Allowance level going a mile.
There are eight horses entered and THE QUICK GALLOPER delves into the possibility of winning by each of the starters.
1 – Tomohawk is a five-year-old bay gelding by Natural Selection out of Preach Preacher trained by Jason DaCosta with Bebeto Harvey in the saddle. After taking his sweet time to reach Overnight, Tomohawk starts against his stiffest opposition yet and will have to be content with possibly a place effort. Predicted odds 35-1.
2 – Sentient is a six-year-old chestnut horse by Strikewhileitshot – Lady Geetadeo trained by Gary Subratie with Dane Dawkins in the saddle. Sentient is getting sharper since his recent return to racing after a long break. Still needs time to get back to his old self. Predicted odds 5-2.
3 – Crimson is a six-year-old bay gelding by Nuclear Wayne out of Sarah Barracuda trainer by Gary Subratie with Dane Nelson in the saddle. Bumped into a vastly improved I’ve Got Magic on March 12 and was a distant second. On Sunday, the opposition that Crimson faces is less formidable thereby presenting this warrior with his best opportunity to get off the mark in 2022. Predicted odds 6-5.
4 – Atlantic Blue is a seven-year-old chestnut horse by Strikewhileitshot – Luvable trained by Gary Subratie with Kiaman McGregor in the saddle. Atlantic Blue is getting fitter and his time will come but not on Sunday. Predicted odds 7-1.
5 – Hover Craft is a twelve-year-old bay gelding by He’stherealthing out of Royal Pizzaz trained by Jason DaCosta with Anthony Thomas in the saddle. Hover Craft returns to his winning and preferred playground of Overnight Allowance. Despite his 12 years, Hover Craft remains competitive and is primed to win his 18th race from, yes, 142 career starts. Predicted odds 2-1.
6 – Chinamax is a six-year-old chestnut horse (USA) by It’smylckyday by Aweemaway trained by Tensang Chung with Phillip Parchment in the saddle. Chinamax chances of winning are limited. Predicted odds 40-1.
7 – Supreme Soul is a six-year-old chestnut horse by Soul Warrior out of Beware Baby trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster in the saddle. Supreme Soul has failed to produce the form of his three-year-old year and really has been bouncing around since. He makes a dramatic return to the stables of champion trainer Anthony Nunes, and we await to see what will happen to this former Triple Crown winner. Note Supreme Soul races with the blinkers on. Predicted odds 5-1.
