KINGSTON, Jamaica – The seventh race on Saturday, January 28, 2023, is an Open Allowance call for three-year-olds and upwards Open Allowance call over a mile run for the Alexander Hamilton Memorial Trophy.
Despite only attracting only 5 starters, the competitive edge is still there.
The Quick Galloper’s assessment is published below.
1 – I’ve Got Magic used his speed to dismiss rivals while sprinting over six furlongs two weeks aback. I’ve Got Magic is seeking to win his third race in four starts after hitting a rich vein of form after a long break in mid-November of 2022. The increase of two furlongs in Saturday’s distance is of no issue to this foreigner. I’ve Got Magic is at his peak right now.
2 – Miniature Man is coming to grips with this grouping and with the trip to his liking can hit the trifecta.
3 – El Profesor is always a tough competitor but will find it difficult against these.
4 – Duke is a dogged old-timer (seven years), who only knows to give his best whenever he enters the starting gates. Meets recent conqueror I’ve Got Magic again, but if he can reproduce his form of the Mouttet Mile when stormed forward in the straight to finish second behind Excessive Force then he has every chance of vying for this one.
5 – Lure of Lucy has been stretched out in recent times by his trainer. This imported in-utero mare has the ability to stay close to the leaders before striking. Based on her current form, she cannot be ruled out.
