KINGSTON, Jamaica – After a speed fest conducted by Princess Kyra (Chris Mamdeen) and Bacilicus (Anthony Thomas), Danny Spud (Kiaman McGregor) produced a strong rail run to win the Caymanas Sunday 7th, which was a four-year-old and upwards (non-winners of three) contest over 5 ½ furlongs.

First it was Princess Kyra who started this blazing effort with Basilicus stuck on the outside as Danny Spud raced in fifth place, way behind the speedballs. The first two furlongs were competed in 23.0 and the half mile in 45.4, after with Basilicus running like a scared hare taking over with Danny Spud improving on the inside.

In the final furlong, Basilicus folded as Danny Spud swept by to win by three lengths. Colour Me Tan (Ramon Nepare) ran on for second with Basilicus holding for third.
