KINGSTON, Jamaica – The 11-race Saturday programme at Caymanas Park got off to a good start for punters as the even money choice Coco Chanel obliged.

Coco Chanel ridden by Dane Dane Dawkins and trained by Ian Parsard disputed the lead as the 4-5 favourite Hecandance (Richard Mairs) was slowly out in the 6 ½ furlong contest for maiden three-year-olds.

Coco Chanel pulled clear of rivals leaving the three-furlong marker as Hecandance came down with  what seemed to be into a challenging run.

In the straight, Dawkins got Coco Chanel going and the bay filly had enough to get the job done. Hecandance after the extra effort following his bad start faded to third as Sweet Surprise ran on for second.

Coco Chanel bred by Casual Trick – Wagon Wheel completed the distance in a time of 1:23.1.
