Foreigner wins his second race from six starts
KINGSTON, Jamaica – It was an easy start for punters as the 1-5 favourite in the first event on the Saturday card of March 5, 2022, Classical Orb, duly obliged at odds of 1-5 on.
Classical Orb trained by Ian Parsard earned his second victory from six starts in a four-year-old and upwards (non-winners of three) call at a mile.
After Ring Charmer was declared a late non-starter, it was Chandra’s Law (Raddesh Roman), who set the early splits followed by Sir John (Chris Mamdeen), with Cruella (Oneil Mullings) sitting and waiting to strike when necessary. At this stage, as the horses raced down the backstretch, Nelson kept Classical Orb on the rails but more to the back of the field.
When Chandra’s Law gave up on the front end, Sir John took over with Cruella lurking close by.
Into the straight, these two started to fight for the spoils but by then Nelson moved on the inside rails and quickly powered by all to win by two lengths. Cruella was second and Mine That Cat (Paul Francis) third.
