KINGSTON, Jamaica - Six-year-old American-bred bay horse Chitu Prince secured his third career victory on local soil, swiftly overtaking rivals in a four-furlong (800m) race.

Trained by Adrian Prince and ridden by Javaniel Patterson, Chitu Prince quickly took the lead, surpassing Okahumpka (Matthew Bennett) and Crushing Power (Dane Dawkins).

Chitu Prince maintained pace with the competitors for the first half of the race before sprinting away across the dummy rails, seizing a decisive 16-length victory in an Optional Claiming event for five-year-olds and upwards ($180,000-$150,000).

Crushing Power claimed second place, while Fiery Path (Shavon Townsend) came in third. The final time for the race was a remarkable 0:49.0 (23.2).
