KINGSTON, Jamaica – Leading jockey Reyan Lewis makes a much-anticipated return to racing this Saturday, January 20, 2024, after sitting out the past two Saturdays.
Lewis last competed on January 1, clinching a win with Sparkles, trained by Jason DaCosta.
On Saturday, Lewis is slated for two races, riding DaCosta's Rosetta in the day's seventh race and guiding Flybluejet for trainer Philip Feanny in the ninth.
The following day, Sunday, January 21, he's set to ride Brown Skin Girl in the fifth race and Sunset Silhouette in the ninth, both horses trained by DaCosta.
Lewis's brief absence saw his closest competitors, Tevin Foster, Raddesh Roman, and former champion Dane Dawkins, seize the opportunity to bolster their standings.
Foster currently leads the pack with six victories from 23 starts this season. He has a busy weekend ahead with five races on Saturday and a full card of nine on Sunday.
Roman, with five wins from 17 starts, faces a setback with a two-day suspension that will keep him off the track this weekend.
Dawkins, with three wins from 20 starts this year, is set for six races on Saturday and five on Sunday as he aims to close the gap.
