KINGSTON, Jamaica – Buckaluck ridden by apprentice Raddesh Roman had to survive a stewards’ inquiry as well as a jockey’s objection to be officially declared as the winner of the fifth race moments ago at Caymanas Park.

Trained by Renex Burrell who was winning his first race of the year from six starts, Buckaluck and Roman watched as Let It Snow (Roger Hewitt) sped to the front in the Optional Claiming ($250,000 - $200,000) event run over five furlongs round.

Roman kept Buckaluck on the inside as Let It Snow and Hewitt moved towards centre track.

Buckaluck had much more to give in the straight and went on for the win at odds of 7-1 by 3 ½ lengths.

Let It Snow was second with Mr Lyndhurst third.
