KINGSTON, Jamaica – The tenth of eleven races on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Caymanas Park is a three-year-old and upwards call at the Overnight Allowance level.
The main talking point at the moment pertaining to this five-furlong straight contest is the return of this year’s 2000 Guineas and St Leger winner, the Patrick Lynch conditioned Blue Vinyl.
A total of eight horses are entered to compete, with the analysis provided below.
1 – DEJAE’S BOY: Word out is that Dejae’s Boy has been working well in the mornings. Plus, this gelding is putting in some creditable efforts as he grows accustomed to this grouping. He will give of his best and can be counted on in the exotic wagers.
2 – EL PROFESOR: This seven-year-old cannot effectively compete against these.
3 – GO DEH GIRL: Raced prominently for the first four furlongs of six on October one, then tailed off. Go Deh Girl goes well down the straight, yet to win this one she will have to perform above herself.
4 – DUKE: Despite moderate form of late, Duke can never be ruled out, especially with his ability to launch from off the pace.
5 – MADELYN’S SUNSHINE: Beat a moderate field when asked to do so 21 days ago in her first attempt in Overnight Allowance. In her five starts to date of which Madelyn’s Sunshine has won four times, she has demonstrated that she has speed. It is going to be a case of catch me if you can.
6 – CURLIN’S AFFAIR: If the effort by Curlin’s Affair on August 1, when he finished second ( 2 1/2 lengths) behind Jordon Reign’s is reproduced, he will stand a good chance of being triumphant in this one. He allows weight to all but Duke, yet his ability to stay just off the leaders, and then make a run for it in the final furlong will hold Curlin’s Affair in good stead.
7 – LABAN: Races against rivals he has a better chance. Does well coming down the straight, giving him a hope of victory.
8 – BLUE VINYL: The long-awaited return of of this top three-year-old will be watched closely. He has never been known as sprinter and as such, his involvement is more than like a prep run for further longer engagements.
