KINGSTON, Jamaica – Apprentice Samantha Fletcher showed her worth with a fine ride aboard Black River to win the tenth event at Caymanas Park which was a Restricted Allowance 11 for three-year-olds and upwards over 7 ½ furlongs.
Fletcher stayed behind the leaders as Yet Again (Reyan Lewis) set the pace but Fletcher started to move leaving the three-furlong marker and in the straight, she brought her mount from the inside rails to the middle of the track, and then got by Yet Again for a four-length win for trainer Lance Richards. Purple Wayne was third.
The win was the fifth winner this season for Fletcher and the third for Richards.
