KINGSTON, Jamaica – The imported in utero four-year-old bay colt Big Jule made light work of his Overnight Allowance (nine furlongs and 25 yards), rivals winning by eight commanding lengths.
This was Big Jule’s second attempt in the Overnight Allowance grade, being beaten by Excessive Force going 9 ½ furlongs as far back as February 19.
Gingerly treated by his trainer Ian Parsard, Big Jule has a manifest likeness for the two turns of nine furlongs and 25 yards. The win on Saturday, was his third at this trip, from his five overall first-place finishes from nine starts. The final time of 1:58.2 posted by Big Jule was not eye-catching, with the reminder that the track was recently re-sanded, and Big Jule was returning from a long break of 147 days.
Big Jule will be a valuable addition to the swelling ranks of the top grade, if he remains healthy and is able to race more often. He will be in the mix going the longer distances.
