KINGSTON, Jamaica – It was a glorious day for second generation trainer Gary Subratie whose charge Big Big Daddy closed a triple for the conditioner in the Caymanas Saturday tenth.

With Dane Dawkins in the saddle, Big Big Daddy was victorious in a four-year-old and upwards non-winners of four contest travelling the now rarely used distance nine furlongs. This race was run in honour of former trainer Valbert Marlowe.

Let Them Fly (Jerome Innis) and Fearless Champion (Anthony Thomas) contested for the lead with Big Big Daddy snuggled well behind the leaders.

With four furlongs left in the contest, Fearless Champion took over and entered the straight for the last two furlongs in command.

Dawkins moved to the inside rails for the stretch drive and Big Big Daddy turned on the power and was able in the closing strides to get home by a short head over Fearless Champion. SenCity also trained by Subratie was third.
