KINGSTON, Jamaica – Racing for the second occasion with the blinkers off and first time Lasix, Berning Red came out victorious in a three-year-old Maiden Condition contest at seven furlongs.

It was Precious P (Aaron Chatrie), who was the first to show on the headlines followed by Scooby (Oshane Nugent), and Call The Emperor (Paul Francis). Berning Red (Omar Walker) raced behind the first three.

Scooby took over upfront after three furlongs were completed but was quickly passed by Berning Red, who took the field with the advantage into the straight.  Scooby then went way wide, leaving his stablemate Rum Puncher to challenge Berning Red, who dug deep to hold by 1 ¼ lengths. Scooby, who lost several lengths by going wide finished third, a neck behind Rum Puncher.

Berning Red, a three-year-old chestnut gelding by Bern Identity out of Feasibility Study is trained by Ian Parsard.
