KINGSTON, Jamaica – Trainer Fitzgerald Richard and jockey Youville Pinnock continued their good run of form when they partnered with Balazo to win the first of nine races on the Sunday card of May 22, 2022, at attractive odds of 8-1.
Balazo’s eleventh career victory from 59 starts was achieved in a three-year-old and upwards claiming $400,000 - $300,000) call at four furlongs.
Although drawn at two, Pinnock used the known speed of Balazo to quickly flash across rivals and in a jiffy was racing on the stand rails.
Thereafter, it was not a race as Balazo pulled away to win by seven lengths. Second went to Sharp Skirt (Anthony Thomas), with Fresh Cash (Robert Halledeen) third.
