Wins Caymanas New Year’s Day 5th at 1-2
KINGTON, Jamaica – After giving trouble before the start of his race to enter his starting stall, Awesome Rich with Roger Hewitt atop won the first three-year-old maiden offering of 2022.
The Stephen Todd trainee was quickest out of the gates with Hewitt keeping his mount in mid-track throughout the entire race as the horses came down the five straight course.
Awesome Rich, by Northern Giant out of Awesome Camille, used his experience gained from his many two-year-old exploits to win by 2 ¼ lengths.
Two first timers Babylon Will Fall (Chalrick Budhai) and Prince Sanjay (Robert Halledeen) finished second and third respectively.
