KINGSTON, Jamaica – Apprentice Roger Hewitt continued to show his development as he enjoyed one of his better days in the saddle closing a double in the ninth of 12 races on the Saturday card on Awesome Glitter.
Awesome Glitter trained by veteran Michael Beecham went straight to the lead in the maiden condition event for three-year-olds over seven furlongs and after that there was never any doubt that a victory was at hand for the bay filly.
Awesome Glitter won by 5 ½ beating Smooth Criminal (Hakeem Pottinger 17-1) with Black Royalty (Jemar Jackson 7-1) third.
Hewitt’s other winner was Big Black Nation.
