Abigail Able in the saddle for trainer Marlon Anderson
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Sunday upsetter arrived in the form of Awesome Aviator and Abigail Able at searing odds of 28-1 in the day’s sixth race.
Able and her mount combined to win a three-year-old and upwards Optional Claiming ($400,000 - $300,000) call going six furlongs.
Awesome Aviator disputed the early lead with Fabulosity (Roger Hewitt), and Mamasharondarling (Dane Nelson) for the first two furlongs before stepping away from rivals to enter the straight for the final two furlongs with a clear advantage.
Able had to use every muscle in her frame to push Awesome Aviator trained by Marlon Anderson to overcome the late surge of It’s All I (Romario Spencer), but the winning post intervened in time.
Third place was a dead heat involving Sir Puddington (Andre Powell), and Miss Linda Wray.
