KINGSTON, Jamaica – The first three races of 11 on the Saturday program at Caymanas Park have all gone to claiming apprentice.

Chris Mamdeen won the first on Struck by Grace followed by Nicholas Hibbert on Voytek in the second with the just concluded third won by Raddesh Roamn Lewis on the Ryan Darby trained Mr Pantheon.

The contest was a claimer ($550,000 - $550,000) for five-year-olds and upwards – non-winners of five – travelling 6 ½ furlongs.

The field for the third was reduced to seven starters, but that did not stop Mr Pantheon drawn at one to shoot off into the lead followed by Fort Knox (Dane Nelson).

From then, Mr Pantheon was never troubled until the final furlong when Blood Song (Romario Spencer – 13-1) and Sunshine Cat (Anthony Thomas – 7-2) came running on.

In a driving finish, Mr Pantheon held on to win by a short head over Blood Song with Sunshine Cat just a nose behind in third.

The winning time was 1:21.3.
