Tajay Suckoo, fresh from the 2024 Jamaica Racing Commission (JRC) Jockeys' Training School, became the first of the lot to ride two winners in a single day. He achieved this feat came on Saturday, January 11, 2025, when  Suckoo took the reins of the impressive horse, Uncle Nub.

Trained by Victor Williams, Uncle Nub found success in a native-bred and imported horses aged five years and older, each with a limited number of prior victories. The race unfolded over 5 ½ furlongs (1,100 meters).

As the starting gate opened, Uncle Nub quickly positioned himself well, seizing the second place behind the frontrunner, Equinox, piloted by jockey Tevin Foster. Behind them, Crucial Alexxya, ridden by Shane Richardson, held strong in third place.

At the half-mile mark, Equinox began to surge forward, hoping to create a decisive breakaway. However, Tajay Suckoo rallied Uncle Nub in pursuit. The atmosphere thickened with anticipation as the horses approached the final stretch. With determination and grit, Uncle Nub made a formidable move, inching closer to Equinox as they turned for home.

The race reached its climax in the final moments, as both competitors pushed their limits. Suckoo remained calm and focused, guiding Uncle Nub for a thrilling finish. In the showdown, Uncle Nub edged ahead to claim victory by a mere head. Crucial Alexxya crossed the finish line in third.

Suckoo, just a week earlier, celebrated his first win aboard Rapida on January 4, 2025. With this latest triumph, Suckoo not only proved that he on the right. Top of Form
