KINGSTON, Jamaica – Samantha Fletcher became the first of the female riders who recently (September 2018) graduated from the Jamaica Racing Commission’s Training School to visit the winners’ enclosure.
Fletcher guided the Junior Panton trained Copperfield to victory in a $120,000 claiming race over three furlongs straight. The other female riders who graduated with Fletcher were Abigail Able and Tamara Lawrence.
Copperfield won at odds of 14-1, with Awesome Cat (Daniel Thompson) second at odds of 8-1. Third spot was occupied by Machu Picchu (Jordan Barret) at 12-1.
