KINGSTON, Jamaica – Current leading rider apprentice Anthony Allen added another notch on his winning belt when he piloted home Devine Lexie to victory at odds of 2-1 in the first of nine races on today's (Saturday, January 18) card at Caymanas Park.

Allen showing growing maturing and patience in the saddle of late, settled Devine Lexie trained by Anthony Nunes in second place down the backstretch in the four-year-old and upwards maiden event while charting a course along the 9 + 25 yards’ contest.

Leaving the half-mile point, Allen sent Devine Lexie to the front, while unfortunately apprentice Roger Hewitt fell from his mount Top Gear in what seemed to be a clash of horses rounding the turn. As a result, Hewitt will not ride for the rest of the race meeting.

In the straight, Allen just kept Devine Lexie going to win by 2 ¼ lengths. This was Allen’s fifth winner for the season.

Second went to Miss hazel (Hakeem Pottinger -2-1) with Funky Fashion (Dane Dawkins – 99-1) third. Funky Fashion paid $772 to place.
