On Thursday, January 29, 2026, the Jamaica Racing Commission heard an appeal submitted by Owner Vincent Henry against the Stewards’ decision, which was handed down on March 16, 2024.
Owner Vincent Henry submitted that his horse No. 1 BAZINGA, who finished second pass the winning post, should have been promoted to first place for an alleged intimidation and interference in the vicinity of the 800-metre pole caused by the winning horse No. 7 JOY IS GOLDEN.
Mr Henry presented his case, outlining that his horse BAZINGA, was intimidated and interfered with by horse No. 7, Joy is Golden, which affected his horse, No. 1 BAZINGA, of a better placing.
Operations Stewards reviewed the said racing film with the parties present, outlining to the Commissioners the circumstances of the race and the reasoning behind the original decision.
After careful consideration and a review of all evidence presented, the Commission upheld the Stewards’ decision.
