KINGSTON, Jamaica – The second race on Saturday, April 8, 2023, is Division One of a three-year-old maiden event to be contested over five furlongs.
In Division One, eight horses are entered. The Quick Galloper’s assessment is provided below for the scrutiny of readers.
1 – DIGITAL LIGHT is a bay filly (January 14) by Wannabeaplayer out of Morning Grace trained by Gary Griffiths with Youville Pinnock aboard. One of the more experienced of this lot, who has the credentials to hit the board. Note, Digital Light races with the tongue tie on.
2 – THE LOVE OF GOD is a chestnut filly (February 22) by Lion Tamer out of The Principal trained by Lawrence Freemantle with Javaniel Patterson aboard. Back to a distance, she will enjoy. The Love Of God is known for her speed, she will be around at decision time.
3 – BAD INVESTMENT is a bay colt (January 30) by Casual Trick out of My Angel Briannah trained by Dennis Pryce with Trevor Simpson in the saddle. Still learning his trade. Note, Bad Investment races with the blinkers on.
4 – NEWLAND LINKS is a bay colt (May 19) by Admiral Alex out of Seamtress trained by Jason DaCosta with Reyan Lewis in the saddle. This first-timer has caught many eyes in the mornings, with many saying he is of worth and capable of winning the first time out. Time will tell.
5 – KAI ON THE GO is a bay colt (May 10) by Midnight Hawk out of Wild Wild West trained by Gary Subratie with Richard Henry in the saddle. Another newcomer with good morning credentials. Will learn, but the choice of rider suggests a run for experience.
6 – MYSTIX CAT is a bay filly (March 1) by Silent Valor out Medical Cat trained by Carl Anderson with Kawise Gentle aboard. Early morning watchers are reporting that Mystix Cat is a progressive sort, with this first-time effort helping to bring her on.
7 – SUGAR SUGAR is a chestnut filly (March 22) by Berlino Di Tiger out of Misty trained by Michael Marlowe with Anthony Thomas aboard. This filly is slowly finding her way and needs more time. Note, Sugar Sugar races with the tongue tie off, and the figure eight on.
8 – SHE’S A MIRAGE is a bay filly (March 29) by Casual Trick out of Full Moon’s Enough trained by Jason DaCosta with Anthony Allen aboard. A known speedster who now gets the right opportunity to get off the mark in her ninth start with a claiming apprentice in the saddle.
