KINGSTON, Jamaica – The eighth race of ten on the Saturday (July 8) offering is the Knutsford Park Cup.
This event is for three-year-olds (locals) non-winners of two, and maiden foreigners going six furlongs.
The Quick Galloper’s assessment is given below in post-position order.
1 – BURNING VALOR is a bay colt (February 16) by Silent Valor out of Burning Clearance, trained by Carl Anderson with Roger Hewitt aboard. Was flogged in his last two outings by the better three-year-olds around. Burning Valor returns to his class and therefore is afforded a fair chance of returning to the winners’ enclosure.
2 – LOYAL ACTION is a bay colt (February 22) by Western Warrior out of Fast Action, trained by Paul Swaby with Tevin Foster in the saddle. Returns after seven days. Loyal Action is getting to know non-winners of two, making this event another effort on his learning curve.
3 – DIGITAL LIGHT is a bay filly (January 14) by Wannabeaplayer out of Morning Grace, trained by Gary Griffiths with Youville Pinnock aboard. Cannot manage these right now.
4 – PRETTY CAROLINE is a bay filly (USA) by Flintshire out of Caroline Victoria, trained by Patrick Lynch with Javaniel Patterson in the saddle. Note, Princess Caroline races with the blinkers on. This foreigner has been heavily backed in her previous two starts, with nothing much to show. Now facing weaker opposition, a good opportunity is provided for Pretty Caroline.
5 – BURLAP is a bay colt (March 18) by Casual Trick out of Fedora, trained by Richard Azan with Dane Dawkins aboard. Note, Burlap races with the figure eight on. Misbehaved on last (Sat, July 1, 2023), bolting and was later declared a late non-starter. If he returns without any fuss, then he has every chance of winning.
6 - GEOLITHIC is a bay filly (USA February 25) by Neolithic out of Queen G, trained by Peter-John Parsard with Reyan Lewis in the saddle. Foreigner who has caught the eye in the mornings with many saying she will probably be at her best going longer. On this her first start, Geolithic is expected to be prominent, and with the opposition, not the fiercest, she can get off the mark.
7 – EAZY PEAZY is a bay colt (February 22) by Casual Trick out of Baby, trained by Richard Azan with Anthony Thomas aboard. Cannot handle these right now.
