KINGSTON, Jamaica – The most prestigious race among the ten on Saturday, September 30, 2023, is an Overnight Allowance with 11 contenders competing over 7 ½ furlongs.
The Quick Galloper's analysis of the possible outcome is provided below in post-position order.
- CHAMPION BUBBLER has undergone an equipment change, with both the visor and tongue removed. This four-year-old filly was highly favored in her last race but disappointed by exiting the gates slowly. With an eight-pound drop in the weights and the distance about right, there are no more excuses for Champion Bubbler.
- RAINSVILLE performed well upon entering Overnight company and will progress with time.
- MORIMOTO gets another chance to raise his stakes at this level.
- TEKAPUNT frequently places without winning. To triumph in this race, Tekapunt must close the gap to the leaders as the distance suits him well.
- EL PROFESOR may be eight years old, but he can still deliver impressive performances. He should never be discounted.
- GET A PEPSI has twice finished second in Overnight Allowance races. With a slight advantage in handicaps and further benefit from apprentice claims, Get a Pepsi has every chance of taking first place at his ideal distance of 7 ½ furlongs.
- I REALISE returns to competitive racing after a lengthy 154-day break and will require more time to regain top form.
- TAURUS BOY can be disregarded from consideration.
- SISTREN TREASURE carries the weight in this contest. Finishing second behind I've Got Magic on September 23, this foreign-bred filly is comfortable at 7 ½ furlongs. Given her recent performance, she is primed for further success here.
- SUNSET SILHOUTTE despite not living up to expectations in her career thus far, SUNSET SILHOUETTE has demonstrated consistency at this level and merits another opportunity.
- BRINKS recent performances have been frustrating. Though the ideal distance for Brinks is 7 ½ furlongs, it's now or never for him to seize the win.
