KINGSTON, Jamaica - The second race on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, is the first for three-year-olds.

The distance is four furlongs, with seven horses entered.

The Quick Galloper’s insights on the possible outcomes are provided for readers to make their own assessments.

1 - ECLIPSE is a bay colt by Sensational Slam out of My Episode, trained by Phillip Lee, with Dick Cardenas in the saddle. This colt is debuting and has been impressing in morning workouts, with observers noting that he has the potential to find the winning post ahead of the competition.

2 - MONEY MISSION is a bay filly (January 22) by Casual Trick out of Daisy Duke, trained by Oral Hayden, with Raddesh Roman riding. Notable for her early speed, Money Mission has caught attention in morning training and seems poised for a strong performance at this short distance of four furlongs.

3 - TRIBAL CHIEF is a bay colt by Sunshine N Shadow out of Outrageous, trained by Anthony Nunes, with an Omar Walker in the saddle. He made his debut on December 14, finishing third after chasing stablemate Enthusiasm. With that experience under his belt and racing against primarily first-timers, Tribal Chief should be a strong contender for victory.

4 - HANSA is a bay filly (February 4) by Successful Native out of Cape, trained by Richard Azan, with Delroy Beharie as the jockey. This filly is debuting and has shown promise in morning spins, but the choice of rider may affect confidence in her performance.

5 - SUCCESSFUL GIRL is a bay filly (March 8) by Successful Native out of Rudy Girl, trained by Stedman Curtis, with Dane Dawkins aboard. She finished fifth in her first race on December 14, placing behind Tribal Chief. A reversal of positions is not anticipated in this race.

6 - MODERN MONARCH is a bay colt (January 30) by Casual Trick out of Revolving Beauty, trained by Patrick Lynch, with Ismael Velasquez riding. This colt has been displaying impressive movement during exercise and is expected to make a notable debut, although a win may be out of reach.

7 - ROYAL MAVERICK is a bay colt (January 31) by Casual Trick out of Peyton’s Delight, trained by Patrick Lynch, with Javaniel Patterson as the jockey. This striking colt has been progressing well in morning workouts, capturing the attention of observers, and has a good chance of securing his first victory.
