KINGSTON, Jamaica – Leaving the starting stalls at odds of 6-5, Another Commander got off the mark in his racing career on a heavy track saturated by heavy rains in the delayed fifth race on the Wednesday card at Caymanas Park.
Another Commander a chestnut gelding by Sensational Slam – Diamond Princess trained by Patrick Taylor and ridden by Javaniel Patterson shot into the lead as the gates opened in the six-furlong maiden two-year-old contest.
Prohibitive 1-2 favourite Versatile Vision (Shane Ellis) challenged relentlessly throughout until they entered the straight when Another Commander pulled away easily to win by 5 ¾ lengths.
Versatile Vision was second while Colawill was another five lengths behind in third.
The winning time on the wet track was 1:15.0.
