KINGSTON, Jamaica – Reacting to Atomica being drawn at post-position seven in the Mouttet Mile scheduled for Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Caymanas Park, trainer of the filly Gary Subratie said it was an ok draw.
“It is widely accepted that going a mile these days is sprinting. Atomica has more than enough speed to handle the situation.
“So, seven is not a bad draw position, but if I had the choice, I would have gone for an outside draw, say from 13-16, thereby exiting from the auxiliary gates, as that would allow Atomica to use her speed without being in too much of a rush.
“That said, she will be on her 'toes' when the gates open, until the winning post arrives,” Subratie told Quickgallop.com.
