KINGSTON, Jamaica – On his 16th attempt, Ruds D Indian (Shane Ellis) trained by Patrick Fong got to the winning post in front in the Caymanas Saturday fifth, which was for three-year-old maidens going a mile. The race was run in honour of the late trainer Harry Parsard.

Ruds D Indian was at the back of the field of 13 runners for most of the trip only coming into view with about 2 ½ furlongs to go, as the leaders switched places several times.

In the stretch drive, Ruds D Indian, with the visor off,  channelled to the inside by Ellis found his best stride and once he took up the running with a furlong to go, the rest were left to fight out the other places.

Second was Miss HJF (Hakeem Pottinger) with JJ Warrior (Roger Hewitt) third.
