KINGSTON, Jamaica – This year’s staging of the Eileen Memorial Trophy – a three-year-old and upwards Grade One call going 6 1/2 furlongs has brought together five starters.
The Quick Galloper’s assessment is provided below.
1 – MAHOGANY is one of the main candidates for the 2022 Horse of the Year title. This six-year-olds allows lumps of weight all-round, yet despite this situation, Mahogany is of sufficient quality to put these away with ease.
2 – KING ARTHUR returns from a break of 40 days. He usually runs well when he gets a rest but his task of winning on Saturday despite the light impost will not be possible.
3 – SHE’S MY DESTINY the top older performing female of last year. She will be on the headlines in this her first run this season, and even with her known class cannot be given a realistic chance of winning.
4 – CURLIN’S AFFAIR comes in light but cannot challenge this group at this time.
5 – DUKE is a participant in all parties at this time. Will fight as always but that will not be sufficient to win.
