KINGSTON, Jamaica – Panamanian jockey Ameth Robles achieved one of his rare wins on local soil when he piloted the Lawrence Freemantle trained 11-year-old grey gelding Bigbrowngreyhope to victory at odds of 5-1 in the Caymanas Sunday second.
Natalie Berger set a punishing early pace atop Special Prosecutor and at one stage the two were seven to eight lengths ahead of the rest of runners. Robles at this time was in mid-pack on Bigbrowngreyhope.
When Special Prosecutor turned for home with the lead Bigbrowngreyhope was in close touch and with the former faltering badly, Robles pressed home to seal the win by 7 ½ lengths.
Hail Mary (Oshane Nugent) was second with Regal Prospector (Osive Donegal) in the third slot.
Bigbrowngreyhope was winning for the ninth occasion from 72 career starts.
