KINGSTON, Jamaica - The second race on Saturday, January 4, 2025, is a three-year-old maiden call in which six horses are entered.
One of the six racing, Stormbringer, is the first offspring of She’s A Maneater to race over the listed distance of 5 ½ furlongs.
The Quick Galloper’s take on the possible outcome is given below.
1 - GIANT VIGOROUS is a bay filly (January 9) by Here Comes Ben out of Glorious Cause, trained by Rowan Mathie with Tyrese Anderse aboard. Despite three starts as a two-year-old that yielded little excitement, no significant improvement is anticipated for this upcoming race.
2- MINEOLA is a bay filly (March 5) by Casual Trick out of Glorious Clause, trained by Jason DaCosta with Abigail Able in the saddle. After a mildly promising second outing as a juvenile, Mineola has struggled to show herself. However, a reduction in distance from her lacklustre mile attempt could work in her favour, indicating she may be better suited for sprinting at this point in her development.
3 - PRINCE OGILVEY is a bay colt (April 25) by Storm Craft out of D’Angel, trained by Phillip Lee with Carlos Blake riding. This will be his debut performance, and while he is expected to learn from the experience, he will need time to adjust to the rigours of racing.
4 - ALTHIA is an imported in utero bay filly (February 12) by Fort Loudan out of Truth Is Truth, trained by Gordon Lewis with Phillip Parchment as the assigned jockey. Racing with a hood, Althia has shown promise, finishing second and third in her previous two starts as a juvenile. With her recent progressive workouts, she appears poised for a strong performance and stands a good chance of securing her first victory.
5- STORMBRINGER is a bay colt (April 10) by Bold Conquest out of She’s A Maneater, trained by Jason DaCosta with Robert Halledeen on board. As the first offspring of the legendary Triple Crown winner She’s A Maneater to race, Stormbringer, has been meticulously prepared for his debut. His impressive workout times—1:01.4 for five furlongs on December 28 and 59.4 over five furlongs straight on December 21—strongly suggest he is on a winning trajectory for his first outing.
6 - LIFE IS LIFE is a chestnut filly (February 10) by Hedge Fund out of Necromancer, trained by Gary Griffiths with Youville Pinnock in the saddle. With only one outing to her name, Life Is Life appears to need more time and development before she is ready to be competitive.
