All Eyes On Perfect Affair In Sun (Feb 23) Maiden Call

2025 THREE_THREE YEAR OLDS

KINGSTON, Jamaica - The three-year-old season continues on Sunday, February 23, 2025, featuring another maiden race at 6 ½ furlongs.

Eight horses are entered, and here’s The Quick Galloper’s assessment for your consideration.

1 - PRINCE ROY: A bay colt (March 22) by Here Comes Ben out of Princess Shine, trained by Fitzroy Glispie, with Richard Henry in the saddle. Prince Roy has performed well in his two starts, finishing third and second. Morning exercise reports indicate notable improvement, making him an experienced contender worth paying attention to.

2 - MIRACLE SELECTION: A bay colt (March 9) by Midnight Hawk out of Sparkling Michaela, trained by Lincoln Lungs, with Richie Shakes aboard. Miracle Selection races with a tongue tie on. Despite three starts, he has yet to demonstrate a strong inclination toward victory.

3 - COSALIVIN: A chestnut filly (March 20) by Bold Conquest out of Sweetyourock, trained by Gregg Fennell with Tevin Foster as the jockey. Cosalivin, who also races with a tongue tie, came close to winning in her last outing, losing by a narrow margin in the final strides going seven furlongs on February 9. With the shorter distance of half a furlong and the change of equipment, she is a leading contender, assuming normal improvement.

4 - PERFECT AFFAIR: A chestnut filly (April 18) by Perfect Curlin out of Nuclear Affair, trained by Anthony Nunes with Reyan Lewis riding. Much talked about in the paddock, this well-prepared filly is set to make her debut. Coming from a successful barn for three-year-olds, Perfect Affair is poised for a noteworthy performance.

5 - ALCHEMY OF SOULS: A grey colt (May 10) by Spieth out of Emerald Belle, trained by Jason DaCosta with Robert Halledeen in the saddle. In his only start to date, Alchemy of Souls finished second, eight lengths behind the impressive winner, Another One. With that experience, he should be respected as a contender.

6 - MODERN MIRACLE: A bay colt (January 30) by Casual Trick out of Revolving Door, trained by Patrick Lynch with Romane Gordon riding. Modern Miracle races without blinkers and a figure eight. After three outings, he has not been competitive compared to his three-year-old peers.

7 - SLAM SHARPE: A bay colt (February 10) by Sensational Slam out of Peggy’s Vision, trained by Michael Marlowe with Ian Spence in the saddle. Slam Sharpe shows potential, but he will need more time to develop.

8 - UNCLE BABA: A bay colt (February 20) by Conquest Cherimash out of A Vessel of Love, trained by Barrington Bernard, with Javaniel Patterson as the nominated jockey. After finishing third on debut (February 9),  14 lengths behind the winner, Uncle Baba has potential for a stronger showing and is a good bet for a place on the board.
