KINGSTON, Jamaica – Trainer Donwell Dawes, one of the 39 newly graduated trainers, achieved his first career win when his horse Ali emerged as the easy victor in the first race of the ten-race Caymanas event on August 19, 2023.
Ali's fourth victory in 58 starts came in a three-year-old and upwards Optional Claiming race ($250,000 - $200,000) spanning seven furlongs.
The winning horse was skillfully ridden by leading jockey Reyan Lewis.
