Then after Smokey Topaz won with Omar Walker in the saddle for trainer Ian Parsard, the three punters going in with a chance, all came out as winners.
For their troubles and spend, each of those punters carried home the tidy sum of $854,332 each.
And by the way, Smokey Topaz won a $350,000 - $300,000 optional Claimer for three-year-olds and upwards run over four furlongs straight.
