APPEAL – TRAINER PATRICK LYNCH vs. STEWARDS’ DECISION
On Thursday 3rd November, 2022, the Jamaica Racing Commission heard an appeal submitted by Trainer Patrick Lynch against the Stewards’ decision which was handed down on Saturday 24th September, 2022 to disqualify his horse TRADITIONAL LADY from the 9th race. Horse No. 1 TRADITIONAL LADY who was first passed the post was disqualified and placed second for intimidation and interference caused to horse No. 4 DON VINCENZO leaving the final 20-metre point of the race.
After carefully reviewing the film of the race and submissions made by
Mr. Edward Barnes, representative of Trainer Patrick Lynch, and the Jamaica Racing Commission’s Operations Steward, the Commission ruled that the decision of the Stewards be overturned. Therefore, the placings of the race were reverted to the original finish and is as follows: -
1st TRADITIONAL LADY
2nd DON VINCENZO
3rd WHISKY
4th ANCHORMAN
5th STORM A COME
6th ASURETY
7th WHO DONEIT
8th MICKEY C
9th GOD OF THUNDER
