KINGSTON, Jamaica – Four-year-old bay filly Matriarch is no longer qualified as a maiden.
This first winning effort by Matriarch came in the second of nine races on the Caymanas Park card currently underway.
Trained by Cashbert Khawalsingh and ridden by Osive Donegal, Matriarch walked into the winners’ enclosure for the first time after victory in a maiden contest for four-year-olds and up travelling 6 ½ furlongs.
Matriarch was on the lead from the off and increased her advantage in the straight to win by 8 ½ lengths.
Funky Fashion was second and Moon third.
