KINGSTON, Jamaica – With the late withdrawal of morning line favourite Diamond League (lame), Adoring Sammie made use of the opportunity under the guidance of jockey Tevin Foster to win the Caymanas Ash Wednesday second.
Adoring Sammie going off at odds of 1-2 was held behind the leaders Allan (Linton Steadman) and Nydan (Reyan Lewis).
Allan took over when they turned for home but was quickly pounced on by Adoring Sammie who went on to win by five and a half lengths.
Uptown Boss (Kiaman McGregor) was second with Sniper Man (Dane Nelson) holding the third slot.
Adoring Sammie is trained by Byron Davis.
