KINGSTON, Jamaica - The eighth race on Saturday, February 8, 2025, will be held in honour of the renowned former champion trainer Allan E "Billy" Williams Trophy.
This trophy event is a non-restricted Overnight Allowance contest for three-year-olds and older, covering a distance of seven furlongs. The race has been divided into two sections, which the eighth is Division One.
The Quick Galloper’s assessment of the potential outcomes is outlined below:
1 - WALL STREET TRADER (USA): This competitor will be a late non-starter.
2 - MR SENATOR: He is still working to establish himself within this competition.
3 - GET A PEPSI: This horse has previously triumphed in this class. However, at the moment, Get A Pepsi is far from his optimal form.
4 - THALITA: After lacklustre performances since winning the 2024 St Leger, Thalita can be classified as a disappointment. Nevertheless, she is currently in good condition, having secured third place behind Benson and Mudshaft over 6 furlongs on January 18. This race could present Thalita with a prime opportunity to return to victory.
5 - MADELYN’S SUNSHINE (USA): Recently, this horse has struggled to regain form, and it seems unlikely that this will change.
6 - BANADURA: Recently demonstrated signs of improving form with a third-place finish behind Commandant and Neo Star at nine furlongs and 25 yards on January 1. Banadura possesses speed, making the upcoming race a considerable challenge.
7 - FURTHER AND BEYOND: This former top-class competitor is still working to deliver strong performances against tough opponents, including a fourth-place finish in the Mouttet Mile. Given the distance suits him well, and if he is fit and ready, Further and Beyond should be taken seriously.
8 - SUPREMASI: Having successfully completed his prior conditions, Supremasi will be racing in Overnight Allowance for the first time. He possesses enough talent to make an immediate impact.
9 - CALIFORNIA GOLD: Lacks the ability to secure a win at this level.
10 - STOMP THE RHYTHM: His best chance lies in achieving a minor placing in the race.
