KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jockey Abigail Able has a golden opportunity of achieving her second win in 2022 when she partners the Jason DaCosta-trained, She’s My Friend in the fourth event on the Sunday card of August 21, at Caymanas Park.
Able faces nine other opponents in this three-year-old maiden contest (fillies only) travelling five and a half furlongs (1,100 metres).
Below is the assessment of the ten starters by THE QUICK GALLOPER, done in post-position order.
1 – NORTH LONDON is a bay filly (May 8) by Savoy Stomp out of Right Marker trained by Ryan Darby with Oneil Mullings aboard. Her 11 outings to date have not produced anything of substance.
2 – SHREWSBURY NORM is a grey filly (May 6) by Casual Trick out of Sweet Sugar trained by Ryan Darby with Omar Walker aboard. Must have benefitted from her only start on July 30. Since then, Shrewsbury Norm has been making some headway at exercise and has a live wire chance of success. Note, Shrewsbury Norm races with the visor off.
3 – ANOTHER WAVE is a bay filly (February 27) by Savoy Stomp out of High Cube trained by Tyrone Prince with Paul Francis aboard. Much more was expected from Another Wave, yet there is no strong evidence to suggest that she is progressing. At best has an outsider’s chance of winning.
4 – TRADITIONAL LADY is a bay filly (April 19) by Traditional out of Always In The Mood trained by Patrick Lynch with Dane Dawkins aboard. Traditional Lady is slowly finding her way. Finished second behind Wowtastic 14 days ago with that effort giving strong support to her chances of going one better.
5 – ZION’S PRINCESS is a bay filly (April 25) by Midnight Hawk – Lookatmenow trained by Michael Beecham with Shane Ellis aboard. This filly in her early starts of 12 ran some competitive races with a reduction in the quality following. The choice of rider suggests that Zion’s Princess has resolved her issues and is ready to run. Note, Zion’s Princess races with the figure 8 on and with Lasix removed.
6 – SHE’S ALL DAT is a chestnut filly (March 9) by Market Rally out of Noassemblyrequired trained by Al Brown with Oshane Nugent aboard. Returns from a break of 126 days. She's All Dat is sparingly raced with only two runs to her credit. May need time.
7 – NIKITA B is a bay filly (March 19) by Deputy Glitters out of Osada trained by Edward Stanberry with Roger Hewitt aboard. Can be bypassed. Note, Nikita B races with the blinkers off.
8 – BLUE SKY is a chestnut filly (May 2) by Here Comes Ben out of Breezy trained by Michael Marlowe with Prince Holder in the saddle. Still learning.
9 – SHE’S MY FRIEND is a bay filly (May 10) by Natural Selection out of My Friend Lucy trained by Jason DaCosta with Abigail Able aboard. Returned from a break 14 days ago, raced prominently then shortened in the final part of that six-furlong contest. With that prep under her belt, a better challenge is expected from She’s My Friend. Note, She’s My Friend races with the tongue tie on.
