KINGSTON, Jamaica – The one-mile 1000 Guineas (Caymanas eighth), the season's first Classic race was won in imperious manner by the highly talented She’s A Wonder, a three-year-old bay filly by Bern Identity – Jamaican Dream.
It was a first Classic victory for both trainer Ian Parsard and jockey Reyan Lewis.
With Katalina declared a late non-starter, She’s A Wonder glided majestically from the outside draw and truth be told the 2021- 1000 Guineas was over and done with from as early as then. It was not a race.
She’s A Wonder never had a challenger as she progressed with class oozing out in the final two furlongs for an effortless victory and in the process recorded her fourth consecutive victory this season.
Amy The Butcher (Shane Ellis) starting at odds of 7-1 was second with Secret Identity (Dane Nelson – 2-1 finished third.
Interestingly, the stallion Bern Identity was responsible for siring first by the post She’s A Wonder and the third placed horse Secret Identity.
The winning time was 1:41.3 with splits of 23.0 x 45.2 x 1:10.3.
