KINGSTON, Jamaica – The She's A Maneater Trophy, a one-mile Grade One race, is the seventh event of ten scheduled for Saturday, August 26, 2023.

Though there are only six starters, the intense rivalry between the much-improved Runaway Algo and the already established I Am Fred promises to captivate racing fans.

Below is The Quick Galloper's assessment of all six contenders.

1 – RUNAWAY ALGO gave his best performance in his 18 race career when he demolished I Am Fred in the 7-furlong Eros Trophy while receiving 5 lb from I Am Fred. Then Runaway Algo won by close to six lengths. In the Eros, Runaway Algo went through early to take the lead, and galloped impressively in the straight. On Saturday, the weight difference between these two protagonists is 10 lb which is slightly in favour of Runaway Algo, and in addition the distance is of no concern. Despite conceding weight in this race, Runaway Algo remains a formidable contender as he does not have to lead to win, having enough quality to stay off any pace which may be present before pouncing when ready.

2 – SWEET MAJESTY is trying to find her hoofs in this grade. She cannot manage these at this time. Sweet Majesty races with the visor off.

3 – OUTBIDDER has done well to reach this class, but has no realistic chance of winning this trophy event. The only role Outbidder can play is to mingle on the lead thereby create a better possibility for her stablemate I Am Fred to get the job done.

4 – D HEAD CORNERSTONE has to wait for another opportunity.

5 – I AM FRED had his attempt to win five races on the trot turned back by the brilliance of Runaway Algo in the 7-furlong Eros Trophy. There is no doubt that I Am Fred has the class to reverse the placing on Runaway Algo, but the way the latter exploded in the final furlong and a half means that I Am Fred has to be razor sharp on Saturday.

6 – MINIATURE MAN as usual will be running on for a possible third place finish.
