Main danger is Best Daughter Ever
KINGSTON, Jamaica - Tomorrow the racing year of 2022 will be ushered in with a ten-race programme. The highest-rated event on the day is the Fan Appreciation Day Trophy.
The Fan Appreciation Day Trophy is for three-year-old and upwards horses at the Overnight Allowance level going nine furlongs and 25 yards.
Although there are only seven starters, this trophy race is by no means easy to resolve, and therefore its competitiveness makes it difficult to find the winner.
Drawn at one is Let Him Fly, who has form with success in two of his last three races. Let Him Fly moves up in grade and may need time to catch the pace before finding the winning post in front again.
Supreme Soul exits from the number two post-position and is given a golden opportunity of earning a win, the first in a long while for this former Triple Crown winner. Supreme Soul has been racing often of late with his last effort just five days ago. Note the blinkers have been taken off.
The five-year-old bay mare Awesome Treasure starts from the three draw. This importee promised much at the start of her career on the local track but has simmered down in recent times. She has been struggling to find her best hoofs but given the level plus her rivals, Awesome Treasure is sure to be comfortable among these and is expected to run her best race in a while. Awesome Treasure can win this one.
Both Ricky Ricardo and Blood Song drawn at positions five and six respectively do not merit any consideration.
The main danger to the chances of Supreme Soul is horse number six the imported Best Daughter Ever. Best Daughter Ever was expected to do better on last but finished down the track. With the circular course, not a problem, having won at this distance twice in her career, Best Daughter Ever is going to slug this one out with Supreme Soul.
The final horse in the line-up is Chinamax, who has been probing at this level for a while with little success and that trend will continue.
The race boils down to a straight duel between Supreme Soul and Best Daughter Ever with Awesome Treasure ready to pounce.
