KINGSTON, Jamaica – Peking Cruz, now fit and ready after a long period of illness, when he got twisted in the gates in last year’s Diamond Mile (December 2018) revived the fortunes of his trainer Richard Azan when he won the third race on the mid-week card at Caymanas Park.

Racing in a Non Restricted Overnight coming down the five straight course, Peking Cruz (Robert Halledeen) reaffirmed his likeness for the distance scoring by 1 ¼ lengths in a fast time of 59.0 seconds.

Azan was winning his tenth race for the year from 86 starts.

Second went to Lottery Ticket with 71-1 outsider Reigning King third.

Peking Cruz will next race in the six furlong Caribbean Sprint Championship on Superstakes Day in early October.
