Badami The Firm Choice In Sat, Oct 24, 2026, 2nd

THREE YEAR OLDS 2026

The second of ten races on Saturday is a Maiden Special Weight event for three-year-olds, open to both locally bred runners and imported campaigners.

A field of six has been declared, three locals, two bred in the United States, and one imported in utero.

The distance to be travelled is six furlongs. The Quick Galloper’s take on the possible outcome is presented below in post-position order.

1 – CINDY’S RUSH (USA)

Bay filly (March 25) by Rushie out of Tuberose

Trainer – Arnold Rambally Jr

Jockey – Tajay Suckoo

Equipment Change – Figure 8 on, plus first-time Lasix

In two starts to date, Cindy’s Rush has not shown enough to suggest that a win is imminent, but she enters calculations based on the modest calibre of this field.

2 – INDEPENDENCE BLUE

Bay colt (April 26) by Conquest Cherimash out of Secret Cat

Trainer – Carl Anderson

Jockey – Roger Hewitt

Equipment Change – Tongue-tie off, figure 8 on

Flashes of form emerged in his seventh outing when finishing fifth, seven lengths behind the winner. That performance alone will not suffice here, and he still requires more time.

3 – INFINITY STAR (USA)

Bay filly (February 13) by Greenpoint out of Batmitzvah

Trainer – Winchester McIntosh

Jockey – Raddesh Roman

Equipment Change – Visor on, figure 8 off

She has shown commendable consistency without threatening the top tier. Look for her to figure prominently in the exacta.

4 – SHE’SAPLAYER

Bay filly (March 30) by Wannabeaplayer out of One Stop

Trainer – Patrick Lynch

Jockey – Joy Haynes F

Failed to handle moderate rivals last time out over the five-furlong straight course. No marked improvement is anticipated here.

5 – BADAMI (imported in utero)

Bay filly (March 15) by Stanford out of Egyptian Goddess

Trainer – Peter-John Parsard

Jockey – Bebeto Harvey

Equipment Change – Tongue-tie on

Made a promising debut on September 27 when finishing third behind Super David and Rockhampton over four furlongs. That effort stands out as the class of the field, making Badami the one to beat.

6 – INDIAN WOMAN

Bay filly (March 9) by Sensational Slam out of Kaka My Love

Trainer – Lydia Anglin

Jockey – Evertte Clunis

Equipment Change – Visor, tongue-tie, figure 8, and Lasix

Still has a long way to go before making an impact.
