The sixth race on the programme of Saturday, September 19, is the second feature on the day, the Louis Hitchins Memorial Stakes.
Restricted to locally bred three-year-old non-winners of two races, and also for maiden three and four-year-old maiden foreigners.
Twelve are entered to compete over seven furlongs.
The Quick Galloper’s take on the possible outcome of this intriguing contest is published below.
1 – RED THIRTYTWO
Has struggled to find form since breaking his maiden tag back on March 15. Form has regressed, leaving him with a mountain to climb against these. Races with the figure 8 off.
2 – JUVENTUS ONE
Showed initial promise early in his career but has failed to make the expected progress. Hard to construct a winning case for him in this line-up. Races with the visor off and the blinkers on.
3 – MAVERICK
Suffered an agonizing nose defeat to stablemate London Spirit in the August 6 Jamaica Derby (12 furlongs) After that unforeseen effort Maverick returned in the Winston Griffiths Classic (9 ½ furlongs and was a complete no show. That latest effort is best forgotten as dropping back to 7 furlongs in lesser company provides him with a golden opportunity to get back into the winner's enclosure.
4 – ABUDAR
Frequently hits the board in this grade and should be right in the mix to feature in the exotics.
5 – CINDY’S RUSH (USA)
Unplaced on debut on August 29 after running green throughout. Has shown noticeable improvement in her morning exercises since and should offer a far more competitive effort. Races with the visor off and the figure 8 off.
6 – ALWAYS BOURBON (USA)
A foreign-bred entrant making his local debut. Has caught the eye in his preparation drills and merits close inspection in the betting market.
7 – NATIVE ISLE
Comes off a solid victory in his last outing, but stepping up to face this level of opposition makes back-to-back wins a tall order.
8 – INFINITY STAR (USA)
Has shown limited spark in his performances to date and can be comfortably overlooked.
9 – GOD’S PLAN
Winless from six starts this season, representing a rather disappointing campaign. God’s Plan possesses genuine back class and can make his presence felt. God’s Plan is well-suited by the seven furlongs, and only need to find the form of old to be a live contender.
10 – CODE RED
Code Red is going to find it difficult.
11 – PROSPERITY SEN
Will find it difficult to make an impact.
12 – FRATELLANZA
Even racing with the blinkers on, Fratellanza after losing the maiden tag on August 30, this bay colt enters non-two for the first time, which is the start of a new curve. Will learn from this engagement.
