The fourth race on Saturday is restricted to three-year-old locally bred horses, non-winners of two and for three-year-old maiden foreigners.
Six horses have been nominated to contest this call going a mile.
The Quick Galloper’s take on the possible outcome is published below in draw order.
1 – ONE IANZHA LINKS
Three-year-old bay filly (March 23) by Casual Trick out of Nippit
Trainer – Anthony Nunes
Jockey – Reyan Lewis
Finished a solid second behind a dominant Victorious Links just 14 days ago. That sharp effort demonstrates current fitness and gives One Ianzha Links a live outsider’s chance in this lineup.
2 – ABUDAR
Three-year-old bay colt by Savoy Stomp out of Ship Sham
Trainer – Richard Azan
Jockey – Tyrese Anderson
Has proven to be a major disappointment following his initial maiden breakthrough. He has consistently struggled to make an impact at the non-winners-of-two level, and while the distance presents no concern, earning the win remains a tough ask.
3 – RED THIRTYTWO
Three-year-old bay colt (March 9) by Hedge Fund out of Roses For Elle
Trainer – Gary Griffiths
Jockey – Emelio McLean
Broke his maiden status on March 16, but has failed to contend or acquit himself well in subsequent appearances against non-winners of two.
4 – I LOVE BIRDIE
Three-year-old bay colt (January 22) by Savoy Stomp out of Birdie My Love
Trainer – Fitzroy Glispie
Jockey – Everton Miller
Delivered a career-best performance in eight starts when finishing third in the 12-furlong Jamaica Derby, trailing winner London Spirit and Maverick by just 1 ½ lengths after closing strongly in the final quarter-mile. That standout run highlights clear onward progression, leaving his lack of early tactical speed as the only real hurdle to claiming a second career victory.
5 – JUVENTUS ONE
Three-year-old bay colt (January 17) by Savoy Stomp out of Texas Missy
Trainer – Anthony Nunes
Jockey – Omar Walker
Shows plenty of room for development and looks up against it in this class, particularly with only a single race start under his belt.
6 – MINNIEHAHA
Three-year-old bay filly (February 23) by Savoy Stomp out of Red Gold
Trainer – Robert Pearson
Jockey – Dane Dawkins
Equipment Change – Figure 8 ON
Has maintained consistent form across nine career starts, most recently setting the pace before finishing fourth in the 10-furlong Jamaica Oaks on August 1. She stands out as the primary speed element in this field and will prove tough to haul down if allowed to dictate terms.
